They actually bothered making the gameplay better and more fluid. Aiming in FO3/NV was extemely frustrating at times. But technically Fallout 4 Hardcore difficulty makes the game waaaaaay harder than the previous ones. Just the fact that you cant save whenever you want makes a HUGE difference, I tell you. Fallout 3 has the better world design(not world building tho), bleak atmosphere and felt like a finished game which NV wasn't. FNV tho has better world building, in which in different areas what they're problems are. also characters and gunplay. The Dlc's are also better than F3. IMO DLC wise, Fallout 3 is better than New Vegas. From NV the only DLC I found enjoyable was Lonesome Road. Dead Money is bad, Honest Hearts is great for explorers but the story is forgettable and Old World Blues gets old quite fast. From Fallout 3 The Pitt is superb, Operation Anchorage is ok, Point Lookout is ok, Mothership Zetta is awful. It's an old game but far better than 76. Both tbh but I’d get new Vegas first. New Vegas, get 76 later. I will say that if you have the chance and have a legit interest, you should check out 76 (After New Vegas). The story is solid (Better than 4’s (And even 3’s, but I just really dislike 3’s story)), the map is top quality, and there Fallout New Vegas is the same type of game Fallout 4 is. The only difference being that one miserably failed in the gameplay department, and the other one miserably failed in the story department. People are cutting Fallout NV a lot of slack by calling it something it's not and thus ignoring its biggest flaw. New Vegas: I love Fallout. I have played all of them, and enjoyed all of them. But the hype New Vegas gets is so undeserving. Yes, its main quest is better than 4s and 76s but it falls short in so many other aspects and the hype it gets is completely uncalled for. The main quest boils down to: Go speak to main faction A XBdtv. Fallout New Vegas has tons of references and connections to the two original games. A few employees from Obsidian Entertainment (FNV) helped develop Fallout and Fallout 2. Like Scott Everts; he was the lead world builder for Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas. The collectable Evil Gnome in FNV is a reference to him. Modder ‘Spiffyskytrooper’ has released a new HD Texture Pack that aims to overhaul all of the landscape textures in both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. As the modder noted: “Legacy Reborn Dan-the-historybuff. New Vegas has a lot more variety than oblivion and sometimes oblivion’s story can get really repetitive and boring. [deleted] I love Oblivion, but you should get New Vegas. Both are amazing as rpgs with a lot of choices, but TES 4's combat consists of spamming r1 with the occasional block (unless you use bows or magic). 189K views 5 years ago. It's Bethesda Game Studios vs. Obsidian Entertainment in the battle between Fallout games. Fighting for Fallout 3 is Mike Mahardy and siding with New Vegas is Dave Jewitt. New Vegas is a game that’s amazing when it comes to gameplay and terrible when it comes to performance. Unmodded Fallout 3 runs better than new Vegas does with bug fix mods included. If you want an experience that’s even somewhat close to smooth then yes mods are 100% essential.
